Electronics: Four band
resistor colour code

The resistor colour code is based on a series of coloured bands that denote its marked value (in ohms), its tolerance (i.e. the accuracy of its marked value expressed as a percentage), and its stability (where appropriate). Two versions of the colour code are widely used; the four band colour code and the five band colour code.
